As a Jones portfolio company, service and community go hand in hand. Regardless of what our employees are doing on the job, whether it’s moving freight, building infrastructure, or completing a community service project, the heartbeat of all Jones companies is people — this includes our customers, but also those in need within the communities we serve. That said, when The Arc of Southeast Mississippi shared a list of facility maintenance needs, a team of A-players across four Jones Portfolio companies, including Jones Logistics, Codaray, Jones Power, and Jones Lumber, stepped up to the plate and answered the call.
The Arc of Southeast Mississippi (ARC) is a non-profit organization devoted to providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Through day programs, skill-building workshops, vocational training, and recreational activities, the ARC helps individuals grow, thrive, and lead meaningful lives. Maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming spaces is critical to that mission, and that’s exactly where we knew the Jones team could step in and help.
From the smallest fix to the most hands-on repairs, our team worked across the entire campus to support the needs of this pivotal organization. Tasks ranged from organizing storage areas and cleaning baseboards to repairing doors, fixing furniture, and even tackling minor construction and carpentry projects. Ultimately, our goal was to ensure that all supporting facilities are safe, efficient, and ready for continual daily use.
Every effort, whether tightening a screw or repairing a building feature, contributed to a better environment for the individuals and families the ARC serves.
This project was a reminder that the values we hold close—integrity, passion, unity, sustainability, and humility—don’t stop at the office. They guide how we show up for those around us. When we come together, we do more than serve clients—we serve people. We’re proud of what our team accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to support such an important mission at The Arc Southeast Mississippi.
